There are many tales of Santa Claus, but none seem to tell the entire story: How and why he came to the North Pole, why the Elves befriended him, and why he took that first magical flight. Children ask LOTS of questions, and adults hem and haw, but the questions remain:
“Where does Santa Claus come from?”
“How does Santa get around the world in just one night?”
“How does Santa get all those toys in the bag?”
“How do the reindeer fly?”
“How do the Elves live at the North Pole?”
Now you can get ALL the answers!
Because the book layout is complete, we wanted to share chapters of “Santa’s first Magical Ride” with you. The story is entirely in rhyme. Short sample audio narrations of Chapters 1, 8, 9, and the Afterword are posted on the Sample Audio page.
The complete text of Chapters 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and the illustrations, created by Herb Leonhard, may be accessed by clicking these Chapter Headings. Additionally, all chapter titles and a brief description are included below the sample chapters.

Why Santa’s First Magical Ride was written…
Through various experiences with children, grandchildren, and a lot of other kids, Paul and Libby Carr became aware the some questions about Santa Claus never change…and never get answered either. Please see the backstory for more details about the original book.
A great way to read this book…
There are lots of ways to enjoy “Santa’s First Magical Ride”, but we recommend sitting in a large, comfortable chair with the book in one hand and a small child or two nestled in your opposite arm. Reading with the child or children is great reading practice for small ones. Better yet, it allows you to find the answers to those repeated questions together, wonder at the illustrations, and just have fun!
We want “Santa’s First Magical Ride” to be available to you this Christmas.
If you are in the Western Washington area, please join us at the Youngtown Cultural Arts Center in Seattle in December for the premier presentation of Santa’s First Magical Ride: The Musical. Tickets are available now at Brown Paper Tickets.
The paperback 2012 edition of “Santa’s First Magical Ride” will be available shortly. Contact us at Yulestory Publishing, or go to our ORDER PAGE. Also, you can email the author or illustrator from our Contacts page with questions or comments.
Best of all, the next time a small child asks: “Where did Santa come from?” you will have the answers.
